Apart from the main attractions of the city of Venice mostly found in the main historic centre, St Mark’s Square, there is the religious aspect of the city that you can explore when on vacation in Italy.
St Mark’s Church was first built in the early 9th century however it was burned in a fire due to a rebellion in the late 10th century (976). It was reconstructed to how we know it today in the late 11th century.
The crème frites, that is supposedly a Venetian traditional dessert, was possibly first invented by nuns who sold them to support their convents.
This is a typical street food that is very popular in Italy as well as Spain (where they claim to have invented it).
