Jade is remarkably resistant, used by many early civilizations for axes, knives and guns. Because of its soft texture, uniform was soon carved jade ornaments - and it was not until 1863 that he realized that Jade was being applied to two different minerals: jadeite and nephrite. Jadeite is almost never found in single crystals and consists of interlocking microscopic crystals that produce a very durable material. Nephrite variety is composed of fibrous crystals of twinned in a tough compact mass. Nephrite is more abundant than jadeite and has less color varieties - usually less intense dark green spinach, white, brown, and black. Neolithic Jade means morality and virtue. The use of jade improve health in many ways, such as relief of abuse, nourishing the five internal organs, blood vessels and unlock. Jade was thought to preserve the body after death and can be found in the tombs of emperors for thousands of years. A tomb contained an entire suit made of jade, to assure the physical immortality of its owner. Jadeite is also thought to cure kidney stones and other kidney diseases.

Jade has influenced all areas of life. In ancient times, people expressed abstract ideas with concrete patterns of Chinese character, which were influenced by Taoism and Buddhism. Jade crafts were among the most beautiful and luxurious; people wore and decorated rooms to indicate loyalty, elegance, beauty and eternity. The most popular patterns were: peaches (longevity), mandarin duck (love), deer (high official rank), bat (blessing), fish (wealth), double phoenixes (prosperous), bottle (safety), lotus (holiness), bamboo (noble behavior), and the fan (benevolence), etc. In China, the largest production area Hetian jade reputation is in the province of Xinjiang. Hetian jade is so strong that it can scratch the glass. Often it has been found in very large parts. An example is the huge jade hill where the big stage of Yu the Great main people to control flooding is carved elaborately. It was 5350 kg (11.795 pounds) when it was completed.
